Sophie Cai
Hi, I am a 12th-grade student at the Baldwin School in Philadelphia Suburbs, PA.
My passions are technology and art, especially the intersection of the two. I view the combination of engineering and art as a creative approach to spreading my culture, expressing social or therapeutic messages, and solving problems. My experience in computer engineering, visual arts, and digital arts enable me to create innovations and media that are socially responsible. Some of my future projects will be recreating the Tang Dynasty using Unreal Engine, designing prostheses in MAYA and Fusion360 for people with disabilities, and exploring the use of machine learning in cybersecurity.
I care about stray animals’ welfare and current global issues and have been contributing to their improvements as a volunteer at SPCA Lancaster Center and delegate at the ILMUNC. Having started to learn Chinese traditional and Hip-Hop dance in kindergarten, I now perform at the Asian Cultural Show and choreograph for my school’s dance team. I also pursue my interest in business by founding a business club and competing in competitions. I also love cooking! From Asian to Western cuisines, I believe food is a great way to get everyone together, spark joy, and spread culture.
