CarBud is built for teen drivers with safety in mind above all else. Our device helps teen drivers to stay focused on the road. Drivers are provided with feedback and insights to foster safer driving habits in the long-run.

 

Our Technology

CarBud combines machine learning with sensor inputs to improve driving habits and keep parents up to date on their teens' driving status.

  • Real Time Haptic and Audio Feedback

    Drivers receive feedback in real-time so that they can correct their driving. When the eye-tracking algorithm detects that the driver is distracted, the haptic motors behind the steering wheel vibrate and the device produces audible cues to remind the driver.

  • Reckless Driving Detection

    CarBud uses an accelerometer to detect abnormal acceleration caused by swerving, erratic acceleration, and other instances of reckless driving. The data is immediately sent to cloud and received by the app.

CarBud uses a gaze tracking algorithm to determine whether a driver is distracted.

Then, with the use of an accelerometer, gyroscope, and a camera, CarBud is able to detect when a driver is distracted, suddenly braking, or in a car accident.
